SATURDAY, Sept. 12, 2009: NORTH PARK (ILLINOIS) FIREFIGHTERS arrive on scene of a single story residence with heavy fire showing from the rear; mutual aid from MABAS Division 8 brings in companies from surrounding communities.

FRIDAY, Sept. 26, 2008 (8:00PM): HILTON HEAD ISLAND (SO. CAROLINA) FIREFIGHTERS arrive on scene of a fully involved house fire on MacDonough Road. All occupants were out of the house; firefighters established defensive position to protect exposures and extinguish the fire.

TUESDAY, July 29, 2008: LOVES PARK (ILLINOIS) FIREFIGHTERS arrive on scene of rapidly spreading fire inside North American Fabrication Company, 2120 Charmar Drive. Mutual Aid from surrounding departments worked to bring the fire under control, while temperatures reached well into 90 degrees.

November 29, 2007: LOVES PARK, IL Firefighters from Loves Park and North Park deparments were called to this house in the 1600 block of Mars Avenue shortly before noon. A neighbor believed the resident was still inside which prompted a search of the burning home. Firefighters discovered the remains of a man in the driver’s seat of a car, which was parked in the driveway.
MONDAY, October 22, 2007: ROCKFORD (ILLINOIS) FIREFIGHTERS make defensive attack against heavy volume of fire in abandoned warehouse building.

WEDNESDAY, Sept. 19, 2007: HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SO. CAROLINA Firefighters encounter heavy fire upon arrival at 2 story home in Palmetto Dunes. Truck 6 sets up their aerial water tower, but thanks to hard work of the crews on the hand lines inside the house, the "overhead" protection is not needed.

FRIDAY, Sept. 14, 2007: RICHMOND, INDIANA OnlyREDtrucks "takes in" a major fire at Primex Plastics company in Richmond, Indiana. Fire started mid afternoon and quickly spread throughout the 100 year old, 6 story building. The fire totally destroyed this building and damaged another building across the railroad tracks in the back. In addition to utilizing resources from Richmond, several Fire Departments from the surrounding area responded to provide assistance.
SATURDAY, July 14, 2007 - 09:30pm: ROCKFORD (ILLINOIS) FIREFIGHTERS arrive at the Park District Trolley Car Barn and find the Trolley on fire inside. Maggio Heavy Towing is called to pull the Trolley outside so firefighters can turn off fuel that continued to burn underneath the Trolley.

APRIL 21, 1967 DEADLY TORONADO RIPS THROUGH BELVIDERE, ILLINOIS I was a senior in High School and good friends with Ralph Jones, a news reporter with Bruce Richardson at WTVO. He called me early Saturday morning (the day after the toronado) and asked if I wanted to ride along with him and his photographer to Belvidere. I jumped at the chance, grabbed my camera and went with them.

MONDAY, APRIL 9, 2007 (04:30): ROCKFORD (ILLINOIS) FIREFIGHTERS respond to a fully involved garage fire attached to a house on Melody Lane. First arriving companies immediately proceed inside the house to attack the fire and attempt to stop the spread of the fire further into the house. Outside crews protect the exposure of the neighbors house.

SATURDAY, APRIL 7, 2007: WEST SUBURBAN FIRE DEPARTMENT (WINNEBAGO COUNTY, ILLINOIS). Volunteer Firefighters from West Suburban FD, and several surrounding communities, work to fight stubborn fire in attic area of wood frame house on Burbank Avenue. This area does not have many fire hydrants, so tankers ("tenders") were needed to haul water into the fire scene. Firefighters set up portable tanks to dump the water for use by the pumpers. Some of the Fire Departments that responded for Mutual Aid included Blackhawk, Northwest, Win-Bur-Sew and Rockton.

THURSDAY, April 5, 2007: ROCKFORD (ILLINOIS) FIREFIGHTERS make quick interior attack on smokey house fire that apparently started in the basement. First arriving engine company called for "rescue mode" since neighbors were uncertain if occupants were home. This video clip "rolls" continuously so you can see first hand all the work that is done in "real time".

SUNDAY, February 18, 2007: CHERRY VALLEY (ILLINOIS) FIREFIGHTERS were called to a truck fire on the entrance ramp to Interstate 90 at the By-Pass 20/I-39 interchange. Traffic quickly backed up on the entrance ramp hampering access for the approaching fire trucks. Firefighters contained the fire to the cab of the 18 wheeler and avoided a much larger fire if the trailer ignited.

On February 2nd through the 4th, 2007 the Associated Firefighters of Illinois Honor Guard hosted its 15th annual convention in Rockford Illinois.This event brings together Fire Fighters from across the state of Illinois for Honor Guard training, which emphasizes proper procedures for a Fire Fighter Line-of-Duty Death.These tasks include; Memorial Services, Line-of-Duty Death Funeral Services, and Parade details to name a few. MONDAY, December 18, 2006: ROCKFORD FIREFIGHTERS were busy all day with several MED calls and a few fires. onlyREDtrucks managed to "make" two of these calls. There will be video coming...sometime?
1) One person was injured when their car went off the road and rolled over in the grass along 3700 North Alpine Road.
2) A two car attached garage was destroyed by fire around 9:00 PM Monday night.

SUNDAY, September 3, 2006: FIREFIGHTERS from several towns in Southern Wisconsin responded on a Mutual Aid (MABAS) call to Clinton, WI for a structure fire in the downtown area. And there will be video here, too (someday).
Wisconsin Firefighters recently participated in the Fire Truck Parade for the kids at the Summer Camp for Burn Injured Youth in East Troy, Wisconsin. The Camp is a program of the Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety.
Rockton Fire Protection District called for mutual aid to a house fire in the Village of Rockton (Illinois) around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 24, 2006.

The MABAS Regional Technical Rescue Response Team Committee, in conjunction with Cherry Valley Fire Station #2, hosted a Regional Technical Rescue Drill.
North Park Fire Dept. arrives on scene of a fully involved SUV on I-90 Interstate, Friday, April 21, 2006. Buzz Carlson was just getting on the Tollway at the Riverside Interchange when he noticed the vehicle on fire and called 911 for the driver.

Blackhawk Firefighters responded to a motor vehicle crash (MVC) in the 7400 block of South Main Road around 7:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 8, 2006. A flatbed truck carrying building material rolled over and dumped debris on the highway. Crews from Maggio Truck Center picked up the truck and the debris, which closed Route 2 for a few hours Wednesday morning. (Click the above photo to start VIDEO).
